Today's standout bowler for the second week in a row was Bo Dee by a mile. Bo is the only bowler to bowl at least his average all three games and finished the day with a very respectable 641 NET pin count. The next closest bowler was Doug, 69 pins back at 572 NET pins, with Maurice stumbling into third place with 564 NET pins.
Just to lend some perspective on the somber scores for the afternoon, here is my new table that I introduced last week as "an indicator of our own progress/improvement, consistency, or lack thereof!" Except for Bo, I think the "lack thereof" is fairly evident.
*The overall average includes todays results.
So how did that translate to the team results? I'm reminded of the past summer Olympics. There was I think a doubles pool badminton match between two Asian countries that would both advance to the elimination round. But as luck would have it, the winner of this particular match would face the top team in the first elimination match. So both of the teams tried their darndest to lose. It was quite the scandal of the games. Like that all Asian doubles badminton match, both of our teams today seemed to be content with the other team winning. Team Eveland consisting of Dude (his first appearance of the year), Bo, and myself managed a clean sweep of all three games and the overall total, in large part due to the fact that Bo was on our team. Team Snyder, consisting of Cary, Doug, and Tom, managed to stay close throughout and even had a reasonable chance to take the third game. In the last game, Team Eveland's closer, me, had to have a strike or spare plus 8 pins to tie, 9 pins to win, in the tenth frame. In my one redeeming moment of the afternoon, I converted a spare and then managed one of my few strikes of the afternoon to propel Team Eveland to the sweep by two pins.
Bo's two weeks on top of the individual results had him climbing the ladder of our overall standings by one spot as the only change on that chart.
Until next week, everyone be safe and take care!
