Only bowled two games today!
Doug's antithesis, Mark, used his natural, single release point, on his way to scoring 619 NET Pins, finishing a strong second. And bringing up third, settling on one release point and swing speed (not trying to experiment this week), climbing out of my slump, and managing to bowl my average, would be me with 603 NET Pins.
I finally figured out I was using the next table incorrectly!
Instead of sorting to highlight the negative, I've reversed the sort to highlight the positive. This makes it a bit redundant to our weekly results, but it does show how much better Doug managed this week relative to his average. And it keeps me off the top of the chart when I struggle. It also shows that Cary, although only bowling two games today, managed to score close to his average and might have had an opportunity to finish in the top three with a good third game.
And our League Standings (no team results this week):
In Mike R.'s absence, Mark made the only move and retook the 4th spot in our standings. Just an observation, or maybe a premonition. With Mark's natural smooth and consistent delivery, if he ever figures out spares on his own and how to hit his mark on the lane consistently, we will all be looking up at him at the top of our chart!
And last, as promised, a focus on the release. Here is a link to a National Academy of Bowling article on Thumb Timing or Release Timing (Focas on the article, not the video.). Basically, hand position at release.
Reminder: I'm out next week. Enjoy our great weather for a change and see you all when I return.
